Tornado naming

The act of naming tornadoes so that they can be more efficiently forecast, tracked and reported. Unlike hurricanes, tornadoes don't presently have names assigned them because they are usually short lived, often lasting just a few minutes. Nevertheless, tornadoes often cause more damage and happen more frequently, making it difficult to report and to record for historical research.
