Imunologija je opsežna grana biomedicinske znanosti koja pokriva proučavanje svih aspekata imunološkog sustava u svim organizmima. Bavi se fiziološkim djelovanjem imunološkog sustava u zdravom i bolesnom stanju; nepravilnim radom imunološkog sustava u imunološkim poremećajima (autoimune bolesti), hiperosjetljivost, nedostatak imuniteta, odbacivanje transplantata), fizičkim, kemijskim i fizološkim značajkama dijelova imunološkog sustava in vitro, in situ i in vivo.
