Wong Kar-wai
Born Wong Kar-wai 17 July 1958, a Hong Kong filmmaker, internationally renowned as an auteur for his visually unique, highly stylized films, including Ashes of Time (1992-94) Chungking Express (1994), Fallen Angels (1995) ,Happy Together(1997) , In the Mood for Love (2000), 2046 (2004)
My Blueberry Nights (2007 ). His movies follow meandering storylines and verge on the incomprehensible on first viewing. What makes them even more remarkable is that they come out of the Hong Kong film industry, which favours films with a primary function to make a return on their investment by pleasing as large an audience as possible, as quickly as possible and thus discourages“art” films.
