moro de guandules
Moro de guandules (rice with pigeon peas) is a very traditional dish and everyone's favorite in the Dominican Republic. There isn't a festive day or a special occasion without serving it on the table. In Samaná they add coconut shavings or coconut milk which makes it even tastier.
